Advocacy

ASRT is a tireless advocate for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals. We stand up for legislation that protects the integrity of your profession and the safety of your patients. We fight against bills that ignore the essential role technologists play in the healthcare system. Recent advocacy successes include:

Hawaii HB 935 and HB 1560, and Minnesota HB 3402 which would have expanded the scope of practice for physician assistants in performing medical imaging exams were defeated.

West Virginia HB 4781 which would have repealed the law regulating the practice of radiologic technologists and radiation therapists through licensure was defeated.

Bills to create liability immunity for health care workers who care for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic were enacted in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Utah.
