RFID Tag Do’s and Don’ts

Attendees will have a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag in their badge holder that allows the ASRT to track attendance in educational sessions. As you walk through the classroom doors, automatic SmartGates will record your attendance.

ASRT does not use paper tickets or scan barcoded tickets. Be sure your badge is visible when entering classrooms so the gates can acknowledge your attendance. The RFID system is crucial for tracking your CE at the Radiation Therapy Conference.

If you don’t pass through the SmartGates on your way into and out of a course, your credits likely won’t be tracked.

Wear your ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference badge holder at all times during classes and events. The RFID tag is embedded in the badge holder and is the only way to track your educational course attendance.

To make sure your credits are being tracked:

Do: Wear your ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference badge holder at all times during courses and events. The RFID tag is embedded in the badge holder and is the only way to track your educational course attendance.

Don't: Use other badge holders. Badge holders provided by any other organization, such as ASTRO and SROA, do not have the RFID tag that we need to monitor your earned credits.

Do: Make sure your badge holder is unobstructed. Wear your badge around your neck and outside your clothing.

Don't: Carry your badge in your hand or wave it around as you walk through the SmartGates. Make sure your badge is not under a jacket, blocked by or inside your tote bag, or in your pocket or handbag.

Do: Enter and exit through designated doors. If you don’t pass through the SmartGates on your way into and out of a course, your credits likely will not be tracked.

Don't: Damage the RFID tag. Although malfunctions are not expected, try not to step on it or damage your badge holder.

Do: Walk normally into a class. There is no need to walk into the room single file or have your badge checked by moderators. The SmartGates at the door will record your attendance — even if multiple people enter the room at the same time.
