The Practice Standards Council recommends the proposed revisions to the ASRT Practice Standards for Medical
Imaging and Radiation Therapy. The council considered the specific criteria recommendations from the Computed
Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Quality Management, and Radiography/LXMO subcommittees.
Overall, many of the recommended changes reflect editorial updates with some minor additions to the specific and
general criteria within the document. Additional revisions can be reviewed in the Introduction and Glossary
sections.
Where additions were made to the Practice Standards document, the PSC provided evidentiary documentation to
support those changes. The PSC believes these suggested revisions to the document will further strengthen our
professional standards of practice.
Thank you for your dedication to the profession and for taking the time to share feedback on the proposed changes
to the Practice Standards.
Public comment and review is now open and available until Dec. 17, 2024.
